Zone Grind, Wave Zones & Citadel Sieges Explained

The Zone Grid is Loot Fleet's PvE backbone — an endless ladder of zones where enemy level, loot quality and special encounters all scale with depth. Here's how every zone type works and how to farm each one.

Normal zones: the bread and butter

Every zone spawns enemies at fixed nodes around your ship. Killing them grants XP, gold, loot (rarity capped by zone — see the rarity guide) and a ~14% chance to scavenge Galaxy Resources straight off the wreck. About a third of enemy vessels are gunners: they hold at standoff range and fire dodgeable bolts, so keep moving.

Zones 1–5 are the arcade lane — near-one-shot kills and a 100% drop rate to build your first loadout fast. The real game starts at Zone 6. You can deploy up to 10 zones above your level, and zones unlock two per level.

The boss meter

Every normal zone runs a hidden boss meter (10–15 minutes, hastened by your kills). When it fills, an Alpha boss warps in: 14× health, elite loot on death, and a shot at the zone's ship blueprint. Roughly one in eight bosses spawns as a SUPER boss — the whole zone pulses red, and the kill pays a premium loot table plus a fat resource bounty.

Boss meters don't fill while you read.

Deploy now — your kills speed up the clock.

Wave Zones — every 11th zone

Zones 11, 22, 33 and so on are Wave Zones: no spawn nodes, just 25 escalating waves of extreme density ending in a boss (30% chance it's a Super). Clear it and the gauntlet resets, making Wave Zones the best sustained farm in the game — if your DPS can keep up with the flood.

Citadel Sieges — the set-piece fight

Zones ending in 7 hide Loot Fleet's signature encounter. You deploy at the bottom of the zone and fight upward through eight waves of garrison hulks — walls of HP that hit soft but die hard. At the top waits the Void Citadel: a massive fortress that suppresses you with four-bolt spreads while you grind down its enormous hull.

The kill detonates a supernova: screen-white flash, then a shower of above-average loot dropped in a ring around your ship — the magnet vacuums every piece before you're towed home. The citadel rebuilds for 15 minutes; the zone row shows a live countdown.

Tip: Citadel Siege zones also exist on the Galaxy map — razing those makes the citadel yours, with 100× resource output and a once-per-day siege lockout.

When to push deeper

Zone 7's citadel is already rebuilt.
