How to Play Loot Fleet — The Complete Beginner's Guide
Loot Fleet is an idle space ARPG: your ship fights automatically, loot drops constantly, and your job is the fun part — deciding what to equip, where to push, and what to conquer. Here's your first hour, explained.
The 30-second version
- Deploy to Zone 1. Your ship auto-targets and auto-fires. In the opening zones you'll nearly one-shot everything, and every kill drops loot.
- Loot flies to you. A magnet pulls drops to your hull. Tap any item in your Loot hold to compare and equip — or turn on Auto-Equip and let the ship dress itself.
- Push deeper. When a zone feels easy, deploy to the next. Deeper zones = harder enemies = better loot, gated by a rarity ladder that keeps drops honest.
- Open the Galaxy. Once you find your feet, the real game begins: 1,950 hex tiles to capture, resources to farm, and other players to out-grab.
Zone 1 takes about ninety seconds. The loot shower starts immediately.

Combat is fully automatic: your ship picks targets, fires every equipped weapon hardpoint in rotation, and drones (on carrier hulls) engage on their own. You steer the strategy layer:
- Battle — watch the fight, grab the loot, swap speeds (1×–3× free).
- Zone Grind — pick your hunting ground. Higher zones scale enemy level and loot quality.
- Loot — your cargo hold. 100 slots to start; full hold auto-scraps new drops into resources, so sell junk often.
- Hangar — your ship, its equipment slots, the ship store, market and cosmetics.
- My Galaxy — the conquest map. More on this below.
Loot: the entire point
Every enemy can drop gear for six slot types — Cannon, Munitions, Hull, Thrusters, Targeting and Shield Core. Items roll a rarity tier from Common up to Primordial, and rarity is progression-gated: Zone 1–4 caps at Rare, Divine doesn't exist until Zone 55+. If something glows, walk over it.
Leveling and the speed of the early game
Zones 1–5 are the fast lane: paper-thin enemies, 100% drop rates, instant gratification. From Zone 6 the real grind begins, and from there the curve is deliberately long — levels are earned, with milestone walls at 100/200/300 that gate fleet slots.
Ships: frigate today, mothership someday
You start in a Frigate. Bigger hulls add weapon hardpoints (up to 7), armor slots, drone bays and built-in stat bonuses. Most hulls unlock the honest way — recover their blueprint from a zone boss, prove yourself in the previous hull, then pay gold. Read the full hull tier list.
The Galaxy: where the endgame lives
The My Galaxy map is a massive hex grid radiating from a neutral Home Citadel. Capturing tiles earns hourly resources (⬢ fuel, ◆ iron, ✦ plasma) that pay for deeper warps. Boss tiles, 100×-output Citadel tiles, deep-space risk/reward, and a live turf war against other players — it's a 4X game hiding inside an idle ARPG.
